What happens when complete strangers
choose to connect?
That's the question behind the Talk To Strangers Project.
I'm Scott, and I invite complete strangers to sit down with me to get to know each other - on camera.
No debates.
No pranks.
No hidden agenda.
Just genuine curiosity, conversation, and whatever unfolds between strangers willing to talk.
Why I'm Doing This
It seems that many of us are longing for something we've quietly lost.
Real curiosity.
Real conversation.
Real connection.
We're more connected through technology than ever before, yet many of us feel increasingly isolated, myself included.
I've been wondering what could happen if people simply made the effort to start talking with each other more. This project is my way of exploring that idea.
I know from past experience that it’s possible for complete strangers to experience connection. There are good people everywhere. We just don’t talk with each other very much.
But if complete strangers can talk and build a connection . . . there’s hope the rest of us can do it too.
That's the reason for the camera and videos.
To document what happens and share it with others. My hope is that these conversations encourage people, remind us that we're not alone, and inspire more of us to reach out and connect to the good people all around us.
What To Expect
If you decide you’re interested, we'll find a comfortable place to sit and simply have a conversation.
I'll have a couple of iPhones on tripods and small microphones that clip onto our shirts.
There's nothing to prepare.
No script.
No performance.
No "right" answers.
I’ll do a quick test recording to make sure the equipment is working, then we’ll get started. I'll ask thoughtful questions, and we’ll see where things go.
Afterward, I'll take a few photos and ask you to sign a simple release form that gives me permission to share our conversation.
what I promise
I will make sure everything we do honors you. If you take the time to do this with me, that's the very least I can do. I'll be interested in getting to know you, so I'll be specifically looking for moments that reveal your character, your perspective, your humor, your resilience, your kindness, and what makes you uniquely you.
I will honestly represent you and our experience together. I'll never intentionally edit our conversation in a way that changes the meaning of what you said or makes you look bad in any way. And if there's something you later decide you're uncomfortable sharing, let me know before the video is published so I can be sure to leave that part out.
More than anything, I want you to leave feeling appreciated, encouraged, and genuinely glad we did this together.
Why Participate?
Hopefully you’ll experience a good conversation!
In a world where most conversations stay at the surface, this is an opportunity to talk about things that really matter. I’m genuinely curious about you - your story, your values, and what makes you who you are.
Leave with a video you'll have forever.
You'll have a compelling video capturing a meaningful conversation that features you and your life - something you can share with family, friends, and on your own social media if you choose to.
Be part of something bigger.
Every conversation helps answer the same question: What happens when complete strangers choose to connect? If we inspire one isolated person to reach out and get connected, I believe it’s worth it. And if we inspire a lot of people to get connected, I think we can have a real impact.

More About Scott

Early in my career, I worked in healthcare, walking alongside people through some of life's greatest joys and greatest hardships. Those experiences taught me some things I’ll never forget:
First, you can’t really know someone until you start talking with them.
Second, it’s possible for complete strangers to have great conversations.
Third, every person matters, and every person has a story worth hearing, including you.
Today I work in a corporate job, but those lessons have never left me.
I've come to believe that ordinary people are extraordinary, that good people really are everywhere, and that meaningful conversations can make a real difference in helping us find connection, encouragement, support, and inspiration.
That's why I started this project.
I'd be honored if one of those conversations was with you.
